Week of August 10, 2026

 

School Starts Tuesday

Welcome Back, Families!

Thank you for the remarkable turnout at Meet Your Teacher last week! Despite the rain, it was wonderful to see so many of our families on campus. We are excited to welcome our students back for the first day of school on Tuesday, August 11!
A few important reminders:

  • Schedule Corrections: If you notice an error on your student’s schedule, please request a correction by completing this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdWO4c4mw76e5zbxJs6uL0QN8kgI-BOyMw7Le_ATQ8RqBZyGg/viewform
  • Student Schedules: Paper schedules will be handed out on Tuesday during 1st period. Students should know their FIRST period class for Tuesday. We can help with the rest!
  • Morning Arrival: Students should not be dropped off before 9:00 a.m., as there is no supervision available before that time.
  • Before School Care: Families needing care before 9:00 a.m. may contact the school for information about our YMCA Before School Program.

We are looking forward to an amazing school year and can’t wait to see our students on Tuesday!
 

Transportation

Families with questions about their student’s bus stop or bus number should visit the OCPS Find My Bus page. Your student’s bus number is the 4-digit number shown in the search results, and bus stop information is also available there. Buses will be running both morning and afternoon beginning on the very first day of school, so please be sure your student knows their bus number and assigned stop before Tuesday.
 

Soccer Tryouts

Calling All Grizzly Soccer Players! We are still looking for talented, hardworking students to help build our boys and girls soccer teams! If you love soccer, enjoy competing, and are ready to Work Hard, Play Together and Be Grizzlies we want to see you at tryouts! Don’t miss your chance to represent Gotha Middle School on the field—get registered and come show us what you’ve got!

Celebrating Our Summer Readers! Congratulations to the more than 50 Gotha students who logged reading minutes this summer! We are so proud of our Grizzlies for keeping their minds active and making reading part of their summer. If you are one of our Summer Reading winners and didn’t pick up your prize during Meet the Teachers on Thursday, don’t worry—our Media Specialist, Ms. Wesolowski, will find you!

OCPS Code of Student Conduct Updates

As always, the OCPS Code of Student Conduct can be found HERE.

Are students will be reviewing the Code of Conduct on Friday in their Social Studies classes. Please remind your student that school is a place where all students, staff and teacher deserve to be respected and treated with kindness. We should all be making choices that are CONFIDENT, RESPONSIBLE, REFLECTIVE, INNOVATIVE and ENGAGED every day.
