Gotha Update

2025-2026 be the ONE. Gotha Update Week of January 26, 2026

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! This week is Celebrate Literacy Week. Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! is designed to raise awareness about the importance of reading and to inspire Florida's students and families to make reading part of their daily routines. We have a lot of fun activities planned for the week, including Literacy Night on Thursday @ 6:00pm in the Media Center. We are still looking for items to complete the evening. Check out our Wish List if you are able to donate. We look forward to seeing you Thursday!

Students of the Week

Congratulations to this week's Cambridge Learner Attributes Students of the Week. Kaliyah Clarke was nominated for being RESPONSIBLE, Gavin Schaber was nominated for being REFLECTIVE and Jackson Spears was nominated for being CONFIDENT.

Literacy News

On Tuesday we will Drop Everything and Read. Drop Everything and Read (D.E.A.R.) is an excellent activity for middle schoolers because it reduces stress and improves literacy skills in a low-pressure, self-selected, and consistent way. By pausing for 15-20 minutes to read, students build crucial focus and mental well-being.  We will be on an altered bell schedule Tuesday in order for us to build this in at the end of 6th period.

OCPS Code of Student Conduct & PBIS Updates

As always, the OCPS Code of Student Conduct can be found HERE.

Our Grizz Store is open every Friday, and students were very excited about the additions to the store and used their Bear Bucks to “shop” for fun items and rewards in record numbers. It’s a great way to encourage responsibility and positive decision-making.

Thank you for supporting our Grizz community as we help students grow and shine. You can donate items by clicking here! The list has been updated to reflect the items the kids were thrilled to see!
