Survey

Stakeholder Survey

I would like to invite ALL of you to participate in the 2025 Fall Stakeholder Survey. Your participation is important because the results will be used as we work to ensure our families’ are having the BEST Gotha experience.

CLICK HERE to complete the survey. It will take 2-3 minutes. You can also use the QR code here. Please take a moment to answer the questions about your satisfaction with our school! The survey window will close on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

The survey is anonymous, which means no one will know how you answered the questions, so please provide honest, thoughtful feedback.

PTO Silent Disco Fall Fundraiser

Thank you to our WONDERFUL PTO led by President Jen Julian. Each year they lead our fall fundraiser to support our school. This year when I expressed a great need for school supplies, including teacher supplies, copy paper, academic notebooks and other things that are usually supported by our school general budget, we didn’t know how much support we would receive.

As always, our Gotha families came through in a MAJOR way. You all donated over close to $20,000 that will go directly to our teachers, staff and students.

The students had a blast at the Silent Disco on Friday to conclude the event.

Literacy

Literacy News

Learning root words is important because it provides a powerful method for expanding vocabulary, as understanding a single root can help you decipher the meaning of many related words. This skill improves reading comprehension, boosts performance on standardized tests, and enhances understanding across all academic subjects, including science and social studies, which rely heavily on words of Greek and Latin origin.

THIS WEEK’S ROOTS

omni - all: Omnivorous, omnipotent, omniscient
pac - peace: Pacify, pacifist
path - feel: Empathy, pathetic, apathy
phil - love: Philosophy, bibliophile
phob - fear: Agoraphobia, claustrophobic

OCPS Code of Student Conduct Updates

As always, the OCPS Code of Student Conduct can be found HERE.

We will be reviewing the code of student conduct this week as we start quarter two. We will be specifically be pointing out the following infractions that we saw more than we would like in the first quarter.

Disrespect: Repeated written or oral language, or gestures that lack regard, civility, politeness, and/or courteous consideration towards a student, staff member, volunteer, or contracted personnel. This offense may include, but is not limited to, inappropriate language directed towards another that is not profane.

Horseplay: Any rough, uncontrolled play or prank that involves one or more students and there is minor injury (e.g., scratch, bruise, etc.) as a result of the horseplay, however, the minor injury was not intentional.

Please review these level 2 infractions with your student.
