Welcome to Gotha Middle School!

Hello Gotha Families!

Last week we recognized our final Cambridge Learner Attribute Students of the Week.  Shout out to Shemala Mitchell, Lincoln De Souza Martins and Hailey Aldrich, all nominated for being ENGAGED; Abigail Anderson, Braden Westphal and Cameron Rendon for being RESPONSIBLE; Kendall Mincy, Thomas Hummel and Rood Dorlizier for being CONFIDENT; and Brielle MacCabe for being INNOVATIVE.  

Common Final Exams continue on Monday and Tuesday.  Please talk to your student about which classes have these exams.  There are two exams Monday and one on Tuesday.  The altered bell schedules can be found below.

We had a very successful Elective Showcase last week with 18 electives being offered next school year.  If you couldn’t make it, no worries because you also have an opportunity to update your electives.  Use the link below and click on Update Elective Selections.  The deadline for updating elective choices is this Monday, 5/19/25 at 5 pm.  If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s counselor:

Our annual Gotha Lipdub recording is Friday!! This is a super exciting one-shot video that the whole school can be a part of!  Our videos have gone viral before and have even been featured on local news and the Today Show.  If you do not want your student to be in the video, please let me know.  If you’ve never seen a lipdub before, last year’s lipdub can be seen here.  

The end of the school year is quickly approaching!  For your planning purposes I wanted to make you aware of some of our end of the year procedures:

Device collection will begin next week, after testing.

8th grade: 5/22/25
7th grade: 5/23/25
6th grade: 5/27/25

No backpacks will be allowed the last two days of school and the last day of the YMCA After School Zone is Friday May 23rd.  

SCHOOL WIDE EXPECTATIONS
Some students start pushing the boundaries in the last few days of school as they are eager to get to summer break.  Please remind your student that we follow the Code of Conduct until the VERY LAST day of school.

Friday 5/23 - 2025 LIPDUB 1st and 2nd periods ; Aloha Friday!  Every Friday after Spring Break we celebrate getting closer and closer to Summer Vacation by wearing ALOHA gear.  We can’t wait to see everyone’s Hawaiian shirts and Aloha look Friday - 1 Friday until summer break!
